Jameson Golf Links

While the name Jameson Golf Links may be new, its history dates to the 1850s when John Jameson of the famous whiskey dynasty built a private nine-hole course on this stretch of coastline north of Dublin.  That same land would later be leased to the founding members of neighbouring Portmarnock Golf Club, with Jameson himself becoming the club’s first President.  In 1995, Ryder Cup legend Bernhard Langer — a three-time Irish Open winner — was commissioned to design an 18-hole championship links on the grounds of the old Jameson Estate,  described by Golf World as “everything a links course should be.”

A multi-million euro renovation in 2023, masterminded by architect Jeff Lynch, transformed the course — elevating greens and tees from the eighth hole through to a breathtaking finishing stretch.  The front nine eases players in gently while the back nine demands precision and strategy, pushing 7,100 yards from the tips.  The raised 12th green delivers sweeping views of the Velvet Strand, Howth Head, Lambay and Ireland’s Eye  — among the finest vistas in Dublin golf.
